About Us
The Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) was established by statutory mandate in 1991 following the liberalization of the coffee industry.
Vision: 'Making Uganda a distinguished producer of high value coffee.'
Mission: To promote and oversee the deployment of the entire coffee subsector through support to research, propagation of clean planting materials, quality assurance, value addition and timely provision of market information to stakeholders.
Objectives:
- Promote, Monitor and Improve marketing of coffee in order to optimize foreign export and farmers' earners
- Ensure that the quality of coffee exports meet international standards.
- Promote coffee as a value added product
- Promote domestic coffee consumption
- Harmonise activities of the coffee subsector associations in line with industry goals
- Policy analysis and development
Services Rendered:
- Supporting coffee development through provision of extension services
- Identifying priority areas of investment into the coffee industry
- Supporting propagation of clean planting materials through coffee research and private coffee nursery development
- Registering and licensing coffee subsector players
- Providing price and production forecasts
- Maintaining a register of sales contracts
- Promoting value addition at each level of the supply chain
- Providing regulatory and quality assurance services during buying, processing and marketing

Warehouse Receipt System
In a warehouse receipt system (WRS) also known as warehouse inventory credit, a bank or trader relies on goods in an independently controlled warehouse to secure the credit that it provides. The warehouse operator issues warehouse receipts, in one form or another (depending on the country's legal and regulatory system), which form the basis of financing.
